Frequently Asked Questions
No. You can book directly with one of our physiotherapists without a doctor’s referral. If you have an extended health benefits plan, your insurer may have specific requirements for reimbursement, so we recommend checking your individual coverage.
You don’t have to figure that out on your own. If you’re not sure whether you need physiotherapy, massage therapy, chiropractic care, Fascial Stretch Therapy or another service, give us a call or schedule a complimentary 15-minute Discovery Call. We’ll listen to what’s going on and help point you in the right direction.
Your first appointment is about understanding you, your goals and what’s contributing to your problem. Your physiotherapist will take a detailed history, assess your movement and function and may use advanced VALD technology to objectively measure how your body is moving and performing. We’ll then explain what we find and recommend a treatment plan.
Physiotherapy assessments are generally 45-60 minutes long. Physiotherapy follow-up treatments are generally 30-40 minutes long.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows your therapist to see and assess the area being treated. For lower-body issues, shorts or comfortable athletic pants are ideal. For shoulder or upper-body concerns, a tank top or loose-fitting shirt can make assessment easier.
There isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer. Your treatment frequency depends on your condition, goals, how you’re progressing and what you can do independently between appointments.
Every person and condition is different. Some people notice improvement after their first treatment, while others require more time and rehabilitation. We’ll establish realistic goals with you and use objective measures where appropriate to track your progress.
We offer direct billing to many insurers including Manulife, Sunlife, Canada Life, Bluecross, Greenshield and many more.
We do not offer MVA, WSIB or OHIP services.
We combine personalized hands-on care with advanced technology normally associated with high-level sports performance. Our VALD 3D movement analysis and digital force testing allow us to objectively measure aspects of movement and strength, while our multidisciplinary team allows you to access physiotherapy, massage therapy, chiropractic care, Fascial Stretch Therapy and other services under one roof.
VALD HumanTrak is a 3D movement analysis system that uses cameras and software to measure how your body moves. It can provide objective information about movement patterns, mobility and asymmetries that can complement your physiotherapist’s clinical assessment.
Because seeing how you move can provide information that isn’t always obvious from a traditional assessment alone. Objective measurements can help us establish a baseline, identify areas to work on and track changes over time.
Not at all. While this type of technology is commonly associated with professional athletes and high-performance environments, we use it with everyday people too. You don’t need to be an athlete to benefit from knowing how your body moves and performs.
